Egypt Initiates Ban on Game Simulating Epsteins Actions Risks

Khaberni - Today, Egypt implemented the ban on "Roblox" following an announcement by the Vice President of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Essam El-Amir, that a decision to block the game within the country had been made.
The announcement was made during a plenary session of the Senate that took place last Sunday, in the context of extensive discussions on mechanisms to protect children from the dangers of the internet and social media.

The decision sparked a wide wave of reaction, predominantly welcoming, as many Twitter users considered it a necessary step to protect the youth, with some describing "Roblox" as "the most dangerous game for children's minds."

Others linked the decision to the Jeffrey Epstein file leaks, pointing out that the threats to children do not always start with direct assault but may arise from open communication spaces lacking supervision, which makes digital platforms susceptible to exploitation in the absence of adequate controls and awareness.

This came after the leaking of files of the convicted sex offender Epstein, who had exploited child victims under the age of ten, where newly leaked reports and documents indicated the presence of video clips of young child victims, some under the age of ten, being sexually exploited in facilities associated with Epstein.

Some newly published documents in February 2026 suggested the possibility that Epstein may have fathered several children with his victims, with claims from one of the victims that her daughter was taken from her at birth.

This comes at a time when children are being exploited in various ways, including through the internet, electronic games, and others.

Tweeters called for seizing the opportunity of the ban to find useful alternatives for their children, stressing the need to direct children's energies towards meaningful and educational content instead of leaving them without alternative options.

Conversely, opposing views emerged against the policy of blocking, arguing that the problem lies not in the game itself but in the absence of parental supervision and a lack of awareness in using digital technologies safely.

Proponents of this view noted that "Roblox" is one of the games that provide advanced parental control tools. For example, entering the child's actual age (like 8 years) activates automatic settings that tailor content to the appropriate age group, disable text and voice chat features, prevent communication with strangers, and grant the parent tools to control the friend list and the types of games allowed.
