Khaberni - After raising controversy in the last few hours, against the backdrop of arising conflicts with her and other business partners outside the artistic field, the investigative authorities in Egypt decided to release the artist Jihan Al-Shamashargi; after listening to her statements in the complaint filed against her.
The details of the incident, according to local media, date back to the competent authorities receiving a report of a dispute between Al-Shamashargi and some of her partners, whereafter the necessary legal procedures were taken, before the preliminary investigations ended with her release on bail.
Ongoing Controversy
These developments come weeks after Al-Shamashargi announced, at the end of December last year, her initiation of legal action against a number of individuals, following her filing of verbal abuse and slander reports with the internet crimes unit, due to what she described as campaigns of abuse and defamation she experienced on social media platforms.
Jihan Al-Shamashargi confirmed, in a post on her official Instagram account, that some accounts had directed abusive messages and comments at her, emphasizing that differences in opinions do not justify abuse or transgression, and that freedom of expression must be practiced within a framework that preserves the dignity and rights of others.
She explained that these attacks followed a comment she made on the "metro girl" case, which sparked wide controversy on social platforms, where she expressed her full respect for freedom of expression, with a firm rejection of any form of verbal insult or transgression.

On the artistic front, recently, just days ago, the series "World Champion" starring Jihan Al-Shamashargi was showcased, alongside Essam Omar, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Mohamed Lotfy, Ahmed Abdel Hamid, Adam Al-Nahhas, and Mona Hala. The series consists of 10 episodes, written by Hany Sarhan, and directed by Essam Abdel Hamid.
Regarding Ramadan drama 2026, Al-Shamashargi participates in the radio series "Meter of Innocence" alongside the artist Ahmed Fahmy, after the postponement of the television series "The Professor" which was scheduled to compete in the Ramadan drama race.
