Khaberni - Unionist Khaled Al-Ziyoud, President of the General Union of Petroleum and Chemical Workers of Jordan, participated in the proceedings of the fourteenth national conference of the National University for Petroleum, Gas, and Similar Materials Workers for the Moroccan Union of Labor, which was held in Casablanca – Casablanca during the period from January 31 to February 2, 2026, with extensive participation from a number of union leaders, prominent personalities, and representatives of Arab and international organizations.
During his speech at the conference sessions, Al-Ziyoud confirmed that the union movement is a fundamental pillar in protecting workers' rights and defending their livelihood gains, emphasizing that the current stage requires a conscious and capable union work to keep up with the rapid economic and technological transformations and their accelerated impacts on the labor market and production environment.
He pointed to the importance of developing union work tools and enhancing social dialogue and cooperation, which ensures achieving balance between economic development requirements and the protection of basic workers' rights, affirming that the exchange of experiences and union experiences at the Arab and international levels contributes to improving union work efficiency and enabling it to face shared challenges.
Al-Ziyoud valued the strength of Jordanian-Moroccan relations at the political and union levels, considering them a model for constructive Arab cooperation, calling for strengthening union relations in the region and the area, and working to unite Arab union ranks within a common framework that contributes to building an integrated Arab market based on the exchange of experiences and competencies, serving Arab economic interests.
In terms of political matters and regional issues, Al-Ziyoud stressed that the Palestinian issue will remain the central issue for the Arab nation, affirming that any compass not pointing towards Palestine is a suspicious compass, and pointing to the steady Jordanian position towards the Palestinian issue, and the Jordanian leadership's rejection of all schemes aimed at depopulating Palestine of its people or infringing on its national rights and sovereignty.
He clarified that labor unions are not separate from the issues of their homelands and nations, and that their role is not limited to livelihood demands only, but also extends to defending just causes and establishing the values of social justice and human dignity.
At the conclusion of the conference, held in Casablanca – Casablanca, unionist Khaled Al-Ziyoud was honored in recognition of his prominent union role and active participation, and his contributions to enhancing Arab and international union work, alongside honoring a number of Arab and international union and parliamentary figures.
