Details of the Assassination of Saif alIslam Gaddafi

Khaberni - Multiple Libyan media sources reported on Tuesday the killing of Saif al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi, the son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, in an assassination operation carried out at his residence in Zintan city, western Libya.

According to sources close to the Gaddafi family, the operation was carried out by four unknown individuals, where Saif al-Islam was injured in the garden of his house before the perpetrators quickly fled the scene.

Other reports indicated that the operation followed the disabling of surveillance cameras installed at the premises, which facilitated the execution of the assassination without immediate detection.

Abdullah Osman, advisor to Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and head of his political team, officially confirmed the news via a post on his official page, describing the deceased as "the mujahid," without delving into additional details about the circumstances of the incident.

It was also announced that the Attorney General in Libya has opened an investigation into the incident to uncover the circumstances and parties involved.

Meanwhile, Brigade 444 Combat, affiliated with the government forces in Tripoli, denied any involvement in the incident or the clashes that took place in the area, confirming in an official statement that "no orders were issued to pursue Saif al-Islam Gaddafi," and that its forces are not deployed inside Zintan or its surroundings.
