AlFaraya Jordan Plays a Major Humanitarian Role in Hosting Refugees

Khaberni - Mazen Al-Faraya, the Minister of Interior, discussed with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih, in his office today, Tuesday, ways to enhance the voluntary return of Syrian refugees and the appropriate measures to facilitate their return conditions to their home countries.

The two sides discussed the importance of providing necessary support to refugees, ensuring the provision of a decent living, and the need to support the host communities that share the burdens with the refugees.

The two sides also praised the level of bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and their future aspirations to enhance cooperation between them.

In this context, Al-Faraya confirmed to the international guest the large humanitarian role that Jordan plays in hosting refugees, and his keenness to provide all basic services to them.

Al-Faraya also pointed out the impact of hosting refugees on various sectors such as health, education, water, and transport, and the resulting pressure on the infrastructure.

For his part, Salih expressed his deep appreciation for the effective role that the Kingdom plays in hosting refugees and bearing large burdens as a result.
