How Omnia a Beyon Company Uses RealTime Data to Enhance Proactive Fault Monitoring and Elevate the 5G Customer Experience w

Khaberni - Providing a high-quality and sustainable mobile communications experience is a key element in Omnia's strategy – part of Beyon companies – as a leading telecommunications company in Jordan, offering mobile phone and fixed internet services to subscribers throughout the kingdom. With users increasingly relying on digital connectivity in every detail of their daily lives, from streaming and entertainment to commuting, electronic payments, and remote learning and working, their expectations regarding speed, stability, and reliability have risen, whether in crowded urban areas or rural communities.

The transition to 5G networks has further raised these expectations, imposing new performance requirements and increasing the need for higher precision in network planning, monitoring, and optimization, doubling the responsibility of telecommunications companies to deliver consistent and actual performance in real-world environments, not just theoretically.

In this context, maintaining network leadership is no longer feasible by relying on traditional monitoring methods or limited periodic tests. Network performance now requires continuous understanding and management based on actual user experience on the ground, not on virtual coverage models. Consequently, Omnia sought to enhance its competitive position and keep up with escalating subscriber expectations through a strategic partnership with Ookla® to integrate real-time crowd-sourced data into its daily operational processes.

Ookla’s solutions, including Speedtest Insights™ and Speedtest Intelligence® and Cell Analytics™ and Consumer QoE™, provide refreshed and ongoing visibility of the actual user experience across various regions of the kingdom. This real-time visibility has enabled Omnia to detect issues quicker, address them more accurately, prioritize network investments effectively, and continuously verify the results of implemented improvements, thereby solidifying Omnia's position as a benchmark for mobile network quality in the Jordanian market and enhancing the overall 5G network experience.

Speedtest Awards Methodology

Speedtest’s Best Mobile Network award is based on a statistically accurate and independent methodology developed by Ookla, built on millions of actual performance measurements collected across the kingdom from real user devices and under actual usage conditions. These measurements include data from user-conducted Speedtests, alongside other independently collected mobile usage signals, providing a comprehensive view of the actual user experience across different applications, locations, and usage scenarios. The award reflects actual performance through a composite index based on average download and upload speeds, response time, and stability indicators, distinct from laboratory tests or traditional drive tests only.

These insights and analyses are based on a large and statistically significant volume of measurements collected during the third and fourth quarters of 2025, where Ookla applies rigorous statistical verification techniques, including outlier exclusion and confidence tests, to ensure data accuracy and fairness, and comparability across different telecommunications operators.

Operational Reality (Situation)

Mobile phone users rely on network connectivity on a daily basis across various locations and usage scenarios, whether at homes, workplaces, or public areas, where performance levels may vary significantly. However, traditional measurement methods, such as periodic drive tests or one-time data collections, only provide limited snapshots of these dynamic conditions and do not offer the continuous visibility needed by Omnia to make faster and more accurate decisions that contribute to improving subscriber experiences.

In response to this, Omnia has adopted a more flexible data-driven model that allows for real-time verification of network performance, accelerates operational adjustments, and achieves continuous improvement. The company recognized the limitations of traditional data collection methods and has built a dynamic approach that supports decision-making at the level of network engineering, as well as broader business operations.

Yousef Satter, the Chief Technology Officer at Omnia, said: "Network leadership today relies on real-time visibility and the ability to make decisive decisions. By proactively managing the network based on actual user experience data, and addressing coverage gaps accurately, it is possible to detect issues early, address them efficiently, and verify the results confidently. Ookla’s data played a pivotal role in supporting our strategic decisions and directly contributed to the awards Omnia received, enhancing our position as a quality benchmark for networks in Jordan."

The Solution (Solution)

Omnia upgraded its network operations by integrating Ookla's crowd-sourced data into its planning and engineering systems, providing ongoing visibility of actual performance in real-world usage environments. This integration allowed the company to detect issues at early stages, take more accurate actions, and verify the results using independent data.
