AlJaghbeer Meets the Iraqi Minister of Commerce and Affirms Iraq is a Key Economic Partner for Jordan

Khaberni  - Fathi Al-Jaghbeer, president of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, reiterated that Iraq is a key economic partner for Jordan, due to the distinguished historical relationship that unites both countries. Additionally, he highlighted the substantial and wide-ranging cooperation opportunities between the private sector entities in both countries, which contribute to enhancing industrial integration between them.

Al-Jaghbeer, during a meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Commerce, Dr. Atheer Dawood Al-Ghurairee, in Baghdad, on the sidelines of the 49th session of the Baghdad International Fair, referred to the importance of enhancing trade exchange between the two countries by establishing joint projects, encouraging businessmen in both countries to participate in trade fairs, and increasing exchange visits of economic delegations. He illustrated that the Jordanian private sector is eager to base its economic relations with Iraq on integration, considering it an important trade partner for Jordan, with

Iraq being linked to Jordan through several trade and economic agreements and memorandums of understanding that help frame and empower the fraternal relations between the two countries, including an economic and technical cooperation agreement signed in 1980 and a free trade agreement signed in 2009.

For his part, Minister Al-Ghurairee stressed the importance of expanding economic partnerships and activating communication channels between the public and private sectors, pointing to the pivotal role that the Baghdad International Fair plays in boosting economic openness and building sustainable trade relations with brotherly and friendly nations.

Al-Jaghbeer praised the efforts made by the Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq, Maher Al-Tarawneh, and the embassy staff in following up on the issues of Jordanian industrialists in Iraq, and working on resolving them through communication with the relevant ministries and bodies in brotherly Iraq.
