Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Tuesday the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih.
His Majesty the King congratulated the High Commissioner on his election to his new post and wished him success.
The meeting addressed ways to expand cooperation between Jordan and the commission, where His Majesty emphasized the importance of continuing to support the host communities for refugees.
For his part, the High Commissioner expressed his appreciation for Jordan's efforts in hosting refugees and providing essential services to them.
The meeting also discussed the latest developments in the region, with an emphasis on the importance of facilitating the mechanisms for safe and voluntary return of Syrian refugees.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, Ala'a Batayneh, and the accompanying delegation of the guest.
