Khaberni - Tunisian artist Siham Qurira passed away on Tuesday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
The Tunisian Syndicate of Music Professions announced Qurira's death in Egypt, after her health condition worsened following a recent car accident.
The head of the Tunisian Syndicate of Music Professions, Maher Hammami, revealed that Qurira's health condition was "very critical" from the time she was hospitalized until she passed away on Tuesday.
Her news cut off from her family
The artist had sustained serious injuries from the accident.
In January, the Tunisian Syndicate of Music Professions announced that Qurira had been involved in a serious traffic accident with her brother in Egypt, adding that "her news had been cut off from her family in Tunisia since the accident occurred."
It also added that it initiated contact with artist Nermin Safar, who resides in Cairo, who then helped the union to establish communication with the Tunisian embassy in Cairo.
It also noted that "after informing the embassy of this issue, it acted with great seriousness and visited artist Siham Qurira in the hospital, and informed us that her health condition was critical, confirming the continuation of monitoring her medical situation and keeping up with updates on her condition."
It is noteworthy that Qurira is considered one of the prominent figures in Tunisian art, having participated in numerous musical and theatrical works that have left a mark on the local and Arab art scene.
