His grandmother is Kurdish What you dont know about the internal security leader in Hasakah

Khaberni - With the entry of Syrian internal security forces into Hasakah province in the far northeast of the country last Monday, following a comprehensive agreement concluded at the end of last week between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces "SDF", in preparation for entering the city of Qamishli within the province, Marwan Al-Ali emerged as the head of internal security in Hasakah, recently appointed by Damascus, with the suggestion that "SDF" propose his deputy.

So who is Al-Ali?
Al-Ali hails from the city of Qamishli and belongs to the "Al-Ghannama" tribe. But his paternal grandmother is Kurdish, originating from the town of Amuda near Qamishli, as revealed by the head of internal security in Hasakah province during a press conference where he reassured the residents of the province in response to journalists' questions.

Meanwhile, a source from the Syrian Democratic Forces mentioned that they have yet to agree with Damascus concerning the appointment of Al-Ali's deputy, as stipulated by the bilateral agreement between Damascus and "SDF", which is the third agreement made between the two sides during the month and the fifth in about a year.

The source revealed that "SDF suggested Jiya Kobani, a member of its general command, to serve as the deputy minister of defense," noting that "discussions are ongoing regarding this appointment, and the nomination of engineer Nour Al-Din Ahmad for the position of governor of Hasakah along with other names to hold positions in the Ministry of Interior and the Syrian Army."

Meanwhile, Al-Ali, known as one of the prominent security officers in the Syrian agencies formed after the fall of Bashar Al-Assad's regime, holds the rank of "Brigadier" and previously served as the Director of Criminal Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior.

He left Qamishli over 14 years ago
He left Qamishli more than a decade and a half ago, where he lived in Aleppo for an unknown period and then supervised a central prison in Idlib.

Kurdish sources also mentioned that "Al-Ali also enjoys relations with Kurdish militants since 2012 in the People's Protection Units" following clashes that occurred in the rural areas of Hasakah.

Also, the commander of internal security in Hasakah participated in training workshops abroad last year, where he underwent security training in Rome on investigating financial and economic crimes.

His appointment came as part of implementing a comprehensive agreement between Damascus and "SDF" nearly a year after the two parties exchanged accusations regarding the delay in implementing the well-known March agreement signed by Syrian President Ahmad al-Shar'a with "SDF" commander Mazloum Abdi.

It is likely that Damascus will announce this week the name of the deputy commander of internal security in Hasakah along with other officials in the Ministry of Defense, the Interior, and the General Staff, as reported by "Alarabiya.net" from a source close to "SDF". He also added that Abdi would soon present a list of his nominees for the People's Council with the possibility of granting his forces two positions in the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Affairs.
