Doctors family who disappeared with her children in Syria warns and calls for investigation

Khaberni - Hassan Al-Abbasi, the brother of the detained doctor Rania Al-Abbasi, issued a statement in which he criticized the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Syria, and demanded Minister Hind Qabbani to open a professional and serious investigation about the fate of his niece "Dima".

"Last Call"
The brother appeared in a video clip he posted on his Facebook account yesterday evening, Monday, and said it was a "final call" to Minister Hind Qabbani, warning of turning the ministerial silence into "suspicion of complicity" with the (SOS) association for concealing the enforced disappearance of children.

He also demanded the formation of a specialized and independent investigation committee to reveal the truth and end what he called an "ongoing procrastination" that lasted for more than 14 months.

He said: "Our patience has run out, and we will no longer be silent. Either a professional investigation reveals the truth, or we will be forced to publish all evidence and video recordings that disprove the association's claims."

This came after a promotional announcement published on "World Children's Day", in which a girl appeared who her relatives claim is "Dima Al-Abbasi", causing significant controversy.

Despite the denial by the SOS Children's Villages association of this match, the Al-Abbasi family based their lawsuit on the results of artificial intelligence analysis, which the family said showed a significant match in facial features, forehead, and chin between Dima's original picture and the girl appearing in the advertisement.

The family considered that the slight differences resulted from "technical enhancements" or angles of photography, but the visual identity remains the same.

Hassan Al-Abbasi also confirmed the existence of a video recording of a call that took place with the girl who the association claimed was the one shown in the advertisement, where the girl denied her connection to the picture saying: "No, it's not me."

Demand for investigation
These developments come amid calls to open the file of "children of detainees" who are missing and announce the results as soon as possible.

At the end of last year, Rania Al-Abbasi's sister revealed the existence of official documents confirming that her six children were received by the "SOS Syria" organization.

At that time, nail Al-Abbasi said, "SOS is an international organization based in Austria, which initially denied receiving any cases of detained children but admitted upon being confronted with evidence that they had received these young children. However, to this day it denies having received Rania's children, even though we know there are documents dated 2014 that confirm that my sister's children entered the organization."

By artificial intelligence.. The likely appearance of the Syrian doctor Rania Al-Abbasi's children in 2025

It should be noted that Al-Abbasi, Syria's chess champion in the eighties and nineties, was arrested in March 2013 from her home along with her six children and personal assistant, two days after her husband Abdul Rahman Yassin was detained.

Then, a year later, the family confirmed the husband's death, as his corpse's image appeared in the "Caesar" file, which contains photos of people who were tortured in detention centers in Syria, taken between 2011 and 2013, and was disclosed in 2014 by a former military police photographer using the alias "Caesar" after fleeing the country.

As for Rania, who was 43 years old when she was arrested with her children who were then 14, 13, 11, 8, 6 years old and a baby less than two years old, their fate is still unknown.
