Hassan participates in the World Summit for Governments and enhances bilateral relations with several countries

Khaberni - Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan participated in the activities at the World Summit for Governments, which started today in Dubai, Tuesday, attended by leaders and government officials representing nearly 60 countries, along with heads of international organizations and global and academic institutions.
During the summit, the Prime Minister met with His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the United Arab Emirates, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of the Presidential Court, where the importance of holding the World Summit for Governments in exchanging experiences and ideas, and establishing new partnerships for cooperation among countries to enhance government work and benefit from experiences in this regard, especially with the participation of hundreds of government leaders, experts, researchers, academics, and specialists, was reaffirmed.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance the fraternal bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in economic and investment fields, where both sides emphasized the mutual commitment of both countries to expand cooperation between them; in realization of the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The importance of economic and investment partnership between the two countries, in light of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement signed between them, was affirmed.
On a related note, the Prime Minister met in two separate meetings, with the Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Masrour Barzani.
During the meetings, they reviewed the bilateral relations and prospects for enhancing them in various fields, discussed the general situations in the region, and the importance of enhancing efforts to achieve security and stability.
The meetings were attended by the Minister of State for Prime Minister's Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Najdawi.
The World Summit for Governments, founded in 2013, addresses ways to harness innovation and advanced technology to deal with pressing global challenges, and anticipates the governments of the future;
In its current session, which includes more than 6,000 participants from various countries around the world, the summit discusses 5 main themes: global governance and effective leadership, community well-being and human capabilities, economic prosperity and emerging opportunities, future of cities and demographic transitions, and future prospects and upcoming opportunities.
