Khaberni - Elon Musk said that "SpaceX" has acquired his artificial intelligence startup "XA.AI" in a landmark deal that unites the billionaire's American ambitions in artificial intelligence and space by merging the rocket and satellite company with the chatbot manufacturer "Grok".
The deal, first reported by Reuters last week, is one of the most ambitious mergers in the technology sector to date, combining a space and defense contractor with a fast-growing artificial intelligence developer whose costs are largely determined by chips, data centers, and energy.
It could also boost SpaceX's ambitions in the data center sector, where Musk competes with rivals such as Alphabet's Google, Meta, Amazon, Anthropic, and "OpenAI" in the artificial intelligence sector.
An informed person said that the deal values SpaceX at a trillion dollars and XA.AI at 250 billion dollars, and according to Musk, "This represents not just the next chapter, but the next book in the mission of SpaceX and XA.AI: to expand.. to understand the universe" and XA.AI's purchase sets a new record for the world's largest merger and acquisition deal, a title held by Vodafone for more than 25 years when it acquired German company Mannesmann in a deal valued at 203 billion dollars in 2000, according to data from the London Stock Exchange Group.
This merger comes at a time when the space company plans a massive public offering this year that could be valued at more than 1.5 trillion dollars, and SpaceX, XA.AI, and Musk have not yet responded to requests for comment.
