Khaberni - The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, the head of the Senior Scholars Authority and the general president of Scientific Research and Ifta, Dr. Saleh Al-Fawzan, has assigned several members of the Senior Scholars Authority to issue fatwas in the regions of the kingdom, continuing the implementation of the royal decree restricting fatwas to members of the authority.
Among them are Sheikh Dr. Yusuf bin Muhammad bin Abdulaziz bin Said in the presidency branches of Tabuk and Al-Jouf, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Muhammad Al-Mukhtar bin Muhammad Muzid in the presidency branch of Medina, and Sheikh Dr. Jibril bin Muhammad bin Hasan Al-Basili in the presidency branches of Asir and Jazan.
At the same time, Sheikh Dr. Ghaleb bin Muhammad bin Abu Al-Qasim Hamazi was tasked with issuing fatwas in the presidency branches of Al-Baha and Najran, also Sheikh Dr. Sami bin Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Suqair in the presidency branches of Qassim and Hail, alongside Sheikh Dr. Bandar bin Abdulaziz bin Siraj Belailah in the presidency branch in Mecca, and Sheikh Dr. Abdulilah bin Muhammad Al-Mulla was assigned in the presidency branches of the Eastern Region and the Northern Borders.
The Secretary-General of the Senior Scholars Authority, the general supervisor of administrative and financial affairs at the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta, Sheikh Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al-Majed, stated that this assignment comes within the framework of the royal decree restricting the fatwa to members of the Senior Scholars Authority, which ensures receiving the fatwa from its accredited sources and contributes to increasing the connection of the authority's members with the community in all regions of the kingdom, following a vision aimed at facilitating the fatwa for the applicants.
He added that the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta will act on everything that allows Their Excellencies and Honors to perform their fatwa duties with ease, including providing them with a research team of over eighty scholars specialized in Sharia sciences, and also activating digital solutions.
He explained that the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta, in cooperation with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), has commenced strategically aligned actions with the objectives of Vision 2030 to enhance the efficiency of government performance by comprehensively transforming into digital, ultimately facilitating the knowledge services for the beneficiaries.
Dr. Al-Majed informed that the assignment of members of the Senior Scholars Authority to issue fatwas in the regions of the kingdom tightens the control over fatwas from their accredited and trusted sources, all based on the foundations of embedding values of moderation and temperance, considering that a controlled fatwa, guided by the principles of the just Sharia and based on solid scientific understanding, is essential in reinforcing values of moderation and balance.
