The medical examination derails Matetas Milan deal

Khaberni - The deal for the transfer of French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta to Italian Milan failed on the last day of the winter transfer period, in a new development for the Crystal Palace English striker.

Media reports mentioned that the medical examination undergone by the French player on Monday caused the deal completion process to stall.

There were reports of the French striker suffering from a knee problem, and Milan sent its medical team to make a final decision on the matter.

Sky Sports clarified that Juventus might take advantage of the situation while monitoring the status of Milan and Mateta.

It continued that Juventus attempting to acquire the player in a loan deal with an option to buy before the final moments of the winter transfer period cannot be ruled out.

Milan's stance will not affect the deal that Crystal Palace is seeking to complete by signing Norwegian Jørgen Strand Larsen as a replacement for Mateta.

So far, the transfer of Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace is proceeding as planned, after the player completed the medical check before announcing the deal that cost the team 48 million British pounds, coming from Wolverhampton.

Sky Sports added that all details regarding the contract of the Norwegian player have been finalized.
