Details of the Burial and Condolence House of the Intelligence Director Loved by Jordanians

Khaberni - Former Prime Minister Ahmad Obeidat passed away on Monday evening, at the age of 88.

The deceased was born in 1938 in Hartha village, Bani Kinana district in Irbid governorate, and held a degree in Law from Baghdad University.

The deceased held several positions in the state, including:

• 1974–1982: Director of General Intelligence.

• 1980–1984: Minister of the Interior.

• 1984–1985: Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.

• Member of the Senate from 1984 at various times.

• 1990: Ambassador at the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs.

He also chaired multiple national and environmental associations, notably the National Center for Human Rights and the Jordan Environment Society.

His body will be transported to his hometown in Hartha, Bani Kinana district after the noon prayers on Wednesday, 2026/2/4 from Usman bin Affan Mosque in Hartha town.

The men's condolence council will be held in Hartha town on the day of burial, and on Thursday and Friday corresponding to the fifth and sixth of February, and in Amman Hall in the Sports City in Amman on Saturday and Sunday corresponding to the seventh and eighth of February, from twelve noon until eight in the evening.

For women, on the day of burial at Sheikh Qweider Al-Sulaiman's guesthouse in Hartha town, and at Al-Nabr family's diwan in Amman on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday corresponding to the fifth, sixth, and seventh of February, from twelve noon until eight in the evening.
