Khaberni - The Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt decided on Sunday to officially block the game "Roblox" to protect the ethical and educational values for children and adolescents, and to limit the psychological and behavioral effects associated with using the platform. This was announced by the council's president, Essam El-Amir, during his speech at the general session of the Egyptian Senate, which was dedicated to discussing a number of requests related to the risks of the internet and social media on children.
Senate member Walaa Hermas Radwan presented a proposal in which she called for the regulation of the "Roblox" gaming platform, with the aim of protecting the moral and educational values of children and adolescents, in addition to regulating the operation of electronic gaming platforms in general.
Radwan presented an explanatory memo before the Egyptian Senate, which included a definition of the platform's nature, documentation of the risks and negative effects associated with its use, including inappropriate content for children, the possibility of direct communication with strangers, as well as psychological and behavioral impacts on young users.
