Say Goodbye to Folding Clothes The New LG Robot Changes the Concept of Housework

Khaberni - During the CES 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas, South Korean company LG revealed an advanced household robot named CLOiD, designed to perform household tasks previously considered extremely difficult for machines, such as folding clothes, preparing meals, and handling smart home devices.

This announcement reflects a shift by companies towards redefining household chores through the use of artificial intelligence and advanced robots, aiming to simplify daily life for users and reduce the time and effort spent on routine household tasks.

A Home Without Labor
This initiative is part of a vision named Zero Labor Home, where daily repetitive tasks shift from human responsibility to smart devices and robots.

Robot CLOiD is not just a device with limited functionality, but an integrated system that uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to recognize and interact with the home environment, in addition to the ability to connect seamlessly with LG’s ThinQ smart platform to control various appliances.

Capabilities of CLOiD
CLOiD features a human-like upper structure, including two arms with seven degrees of motion each, and hands with five movable fingers; this enables it to grasp and precisely handle items such as clothing, dishes, and even fragile household tools.

During the display at CES 2026, the robot demonstrated its ability to start a washing cycle, place clothes inside the washing machine, and even fold clothes and stack them.

It also displayed its capability to retrieve milk from the refrigerator, place a croissant in the oven, and interact with the lighting and temperature controls in the house via connected devices.

CLOiD operates on a wheeled base equipped with advanced navigation technologies derived from LG’s experience with small robots like smart vacuums; this ensures stability and ease of movement within the home.

The robot relies on an advanced artificial intelligence system, enabling it to understand images and videos, and thereafter translate them into useful household actions.

This advanced technology not only allows CLOiD to execute commands but also to adapt to the environment and teach itself how to handle various tasks with high precision; making it one of the most advanced household robots displayed to date.

Price and Launch Date
Despite the great admiration the robot sparked among visitors, LG has not yet disclosed the selling price or the market launch date.

These details are expected to be part of future announcements, with anticipation that the product will generate significant interest in the smart home appliance market upon availability.
