We know why and whom we celebrate
Author: الدكتور يعقوب ناصر الدين

Those who have experienced the long phases of building the national state in our Arab world understand well the true meaning of the concept of mutual love between the leader and his people, a love that is explained and celebrated when the relationship between them is based on a system of values and principles, ideals upon which the state was built to be the firm base for a stable nation whose people adhere to their national unity, their political system, and their solidarity with their military and security forces—which are of them and they of it.
Unfortunately, in the opposite scenario, we saw how a flaw in that equation leads to disturbances that affect higher interests, regional balances, and international relations, tying the regrettable fate of states and peoples we hold dear to that malfunction in governance on one hand, and the widening gap between the people and their regime on the other hand!
Out of speaking about God’s blessings, Jordan has established its own model under a Hashemite banner that waved in the sky of Arabism from the first day, and people generation after generation remained loyal to it, and to what it symbolizes of honor, nobility, and glory befitting the carriers of the message of the great grandfather, the Arab Hashemite Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, a message of mercy, affection, care, and sincerity, aimed at deepening the relationship to the extent of faith in God and migration to Him in words and deeds.
Jordanians celebrate the birthday of their leader, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, with the certainty that he strives for their honor, dignity, and the future of their generations, and he fights to keep Jordan a strong fortress against the storms and hurricanes that have long troubled the security and stability of this region and its states, still facing projects of change, alteration, and tampering with the destinies of its peoples, with calculations related to two things: first, the unity of Jordan and its cohesion in its political structure based on mutual loyalty and belonging, and second, the wisdom of the leader who is keen on his people, and on his strength derived from his people’s love and their absolute trust in his initiative, courage, and strategic ability to deal with challenges and risks at various levels and sources.
The birthday of our King is undoubtedly an occasion that allows Jordanians to express the depth and sincerity of that close bond, and high appreciation for their King who reciprocates their love, and to also express their support for him, standing by and around him as he navigates Jordan through all dangers, by confronting challenges rather than fleeing from them, and advancing it through paths of reform and modernization to make it stronger, more resilient, and stable, and for the journey itself to be an element of that strength needed to remain a significant number in the equation of regional and international balances with all its precise calculations and sometimes mysterious or deceptive indicators!
Celebrating our leader, pioneer, and beloved is truly derived from the mind, emotions, and collective conscience that is not based on comparison between one state and another, but on the particularity of the relationship that binds us to him and him to us through a journey spanning a century, from Abdullah the First to Abdullah the Second, unique in its birth from the womb of the Great Arab Revolt and its renaissance project, continuous in its national project, balancing or equating between patriotism and nationalism, for Jordan to remain always faithful to its nation, defending its glory and dignity among nations.
With all pride and honor, we tell Abi Al Hussein and his Crown Prince Al Hussein, you are at the heart of the heart, and sincere prayers that God protects you and preserves Jordan and its good people, sons and daughters, in the ranks of the well-aligned army and those vigilant over its security, safety, and elevation, and may He keep it in good, love, and peace.
