College of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University Hosts a Specialized Scientific Workshop on The Role of Clinical Pharmacists

Khaberni - In line with the Arab Amman University's commitment to enriching its students' knowledge and preparing them to keep up with modern developments in pharmaceutical practice and enhancing the link between scientific knowledge and practical applications, the College of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University hosted Dr. Alaa Badr from the Department of Pharmacy at the Specialty Hospital to give a specialized scientific workshop titled: "The Clinical Pharmacist as the Core of Pharmaceutical Care: Implications for Education and Training", as part of the Clinical Pharmacy and Treatments (1) course, under the supervision of Dr. Lubna Ghraibeh, the Associate Dean and faculty member at the College of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University.

The workshop included a review of a series of clinical cases which highlighted the pivotal role of the clinical pharmacist in identifying pharmaceutical problems, improving the quality of healthcare, and effectively contributing to the therapeutic decisions within the medical team. This enhances patient safety and increases the efficiency of therapeutic outcomes. The workshop also emphasized the direct impact of the clinical pharmacist's role in developing the pharmaceutical education and training system by stressing the importance of integrating education based on clinical cases, developing clinical thinking skills, professional communication, and evidence-based decision making, which helps in preparing graduates for the requirements of modern pharmaceutical practice.

The workshop witnessed notable attendance and interaction from the students and faculty members at the College of Pharmacy at the university, who showed notable engagement with the presented scientific content. The aimed scientific discussions enriched the educational experience and enhanced awareness of the importance of developing training curricula and programs in line with the rapid developments in the healthcare sector.

In this regard, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Houweij, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University, emphasized the importance of organizing such specialized scientific workshops due to their pivotal role in enhancing the practical aspect of students and linking theoretical concepts to real clinical practice, noting that the clinical pharmacist is a fundamental pillar in the modern healthcare system.
