Israel was about to assassinate AlHayya and the operation was canceled due to uncertainty about his location

Khaberni - The Hebrew channel "Kan" revealed on Sunday night that Khalil al-Hayya, a prominent leader in "Hamas" and a member of the political bureau of the movement, was the target of an assassination operation through an air strike when he arrived at Beirut airport at the start of the war on Gaza.

The channel reported for the first time that the assassination attempt on al-Hayya was canceled at the last moment, as the Israeli military had been monitoring and tracking him until the decisive moment.

It added that "the Israeli military was about to order the release of bombs to carry out the operation, but the strike was canceled due to the lack of confirmation about the exact location of the prominent Hamas leader."

The channel confirmed that "al-Hayya was on the list of targets of the Israeli military, during the first months of the war, long before the controversial strike that was carried out in the Qatari capital, Doha, against Hamas leaders in September last year."

It is noteworthy that al-Hayya was the target of another Israeli assassination operation when Israel suddenly targeted a building in Doha, during a meeting of the movement's leaders, but he survived the assassination along with other prominent leaders, while his son Humam, his companion, and a Qatari citizen were killed.

It is noteworthy that Khalil al-Hayya took over the leadership of "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip, succeeding Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated by Israel in the Iranian capital Tehran, and he is a member of the political leadership and a member of the movement's delegation in negotiations with Israel through mediators.
