Khaberni - Media reports state that English club Liverpool has finalized its agreement to sign young French defender Jeremy Jakiè from Rennes, in a major deal with all details agreed, with the player’s transfer officially taking place in the summer of 2026.
Media expert Fabrizio Romano clarified that "the Reds" reached a complete agreement with Rennes to pay 60 million euros, plus an additional 10 million euros in incentives and variables, as a clear bet from the English club's management on one of the most prominent rising defensive talents in European football.
He confirmed that Jakiè agreed to personal terms with Liverpool, closing the file from the player's side, awaiting the summer of 2026 to officially join the team, as part of a long-term plan to strengthen the back line with young elements capable of development and continuity.
Jeremy Jakiè is regarded as one of the most talented central defenders in the world at his age group, thanks to his high physical abilities, his good reading of the game, alongside his proficiency in playing out from the back, features that align with Liverpool's technical requirements for the upcoming stage.
This deal reflects Liverpool's approach towards early investment in quality talents and securing future pillars for the team, as the club aims to maintain its strong presence both locally and in Europe in the coming years.
