12 Matches Without Travel Messis Demands Weaken Galatasaray Deal

Khaberni - Turkish media reports revealed a desire within Galatasaray to contract with Argentine star Lionel Messi during the winter transfer period, a move described as ambitious but collided with specific conditions set by the player to agree to take on the experience.

According to Turkish journalist Levent Tüzemen via A Spor channel, Messi initially showed a willingness to play with Galatasaray, but within a very limited framework, involving a short contract under which he would only play 12 matches, all to be held in Istanbul, without committing to travel for any away matches.

Tüzemen pointed out that Lionel Messi explicitly stipulated not to participate in away games, preferring to appear only at the team's stadium and among its fans. This reflects the player's concern to reduce physical burdens and travel, given his advancing age and busy sports schedule.

These conditions highlight the complexity surrounding any attempt to sign Messi, despite the huge marketing and technical value he could add to the Turkish club, especially as Galatasaray seeks to bolster its roster with a global star to give a strong boost at both local and European levels.

At the same time, these details open up questions about Galatasaray's ability to meet the Argentine player’s organizational and competitive requirements, given the nature of competitions that impose frequent travels within and outside Turkey.
