Aya AlAsmar Raising Files of Impersonators Pretending to be Dentists to the Public Prosecutor

Khaberni - Dr. Aya Al-Asmar, the head of the Dentists Syndicate, confirmed that the syndicate has embarked on a series of regulatory measures during the past period aimed at controlling the profession and protecting patients, through direct coordination with state institutions and related official bodies.

She said that these measures were taken on two parallel tracks, aimed at addressing the most prominent challenges facing the dental sector in Jordan, according to Al-Ghad.
In light of this, the board of the Dentists Syndicate is holding a press conference at 12 noon tomorrow, Tuesday, to discuss the syndicate's procedures in the profession's file and the complete digital transformation of the syndicate.
The first track, according to Al-Asmar, involves monitoring non-compliant clinics, whether those operating without an official license from the Ministry of Health or those owned by individuals who do not hold the title of dentist.
She pointed out that the syndicate addressed the Ministry of Health to take necessary actions against these clinics, where a number of them were closed and violating doctors were referred to investigation committees and disciplinary boards.
She explained that the files of impersonators and those not holding a professional license were raised to the public prosecutor, in a step aimed at protecting the profession from manipulation and ensuring patient safety.
As for the second track, it focused on the centers and doctors who conduct training sessions without any legal coverage or accredited academic supervision, according to Al-Asmar.
She confirmed that the syndicate addressed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, specifically the Companies Control Department, regarding these centers, where their files were referred to the public prosecutor.
She said, "Communication was made with the Central Bank regarding prepaid dental card companies, which operate outside the legal framework."
She emphasized that the doctors who organize such courses, whether in private centers or within their clinics, have been referred to investigation committees and disciplinary councils, considering that these practices pose a risk to the quality of training and harm the reputation of the profession.
She indicated that work is ongoing on the professional file, which includes combating those encroaching on the profession and impersonators of dentists, and confronting training courses and noncompliant training centers that operate without any legal basis or cover, confirming that this file is at the Public Prosecutor's office, and some violators have been imprisoned, while others were referred to more than 50 investigation committees and disciplinary councils, and in some cases, the files were preserved after signing pledges.
In a related context, Al-Asmar announced that the syndicate is working on enhancing its services through digital transformation, so that dentists can benefit from various syndicate services via a specific electronic application without the need to visit the headquarters.
She explained that this step comes in response to the requirements of the era and to facilitate access to syndicate services for doctors within and outside the Kingdom, enhancing the efficiency of syndicate work and keeping pace with technological developments.
She also revealed that the syndicate intends to stop cash transactions in all governorates except for the capital Amman, where doctors will be able to pay their financial obligations towards the syndicate's funds, both mandatory and optional, through the electronic application using modern payment methods like "Visa" or "eFAWATEERcom".
She confirmed that this step aims to enhance financial transparency and simplify administrative procedures, in line with the state's orientation towards the digital economy.
These measures come in the face of increasing challenges facing the dental sector, from the spread of unlicensed clinics to illegal training practices, prompting the syndicate to intensify its efforts to protect the profession and ensure the quality of services provided to citizens.
These movements are seen as part of a broader strategy to modernize union work, enhance community confidence in professional institutions, and protect the rights of the doctors themselves.
She stressed that the syndicate will not tolerate any violations that affect the profession or harm patients, indicating that the next stage will witness more regulatory and developmental measures that ensure the improvement of health services and enhance the status of dentistry in Jordan.
