Syrian researcher Jordan will soon play a role in uniting southern Syria

Khaberni - Syrian writer and political researcher, Bassam Sulaiman, said on Sunday that Jordan will play a "very close role in uniting southern Syria" to reach a state where all Syrians live on the principle and basis of citizenship: "We are all citizens".

Sulaiman added, via "Al-Mamlaka", that Syrians are fighting a battle to unite Syria.

He pointed out that "Syria is undergoing the challenge of its unification and preserving its Arab identity", affirming that this will be accomplished through the efforts of the Syrian people and the support of their brethren, with Jordan at the forefront.

He explained that the Arab identity of Syria is not just a concern for Syria alone, but it is a trust among 400 million Arabs, considering it a red line that cannot be compromised, noting that after January 8, 2024, the Syrian people want to establish a new Syrian state.

He mentioned that countries in transitional phases are "fragile", which opens the field for internal and external ambitions, indicating that "QSD" is trying to create legitimacy for itself by representing a specific ethnic group or sects.

Sulaiman clarified that the conflict in Syria is not between components, but between the path of building the Syrian state and non-state actors supported from abroad, which seek to achieve gains or preserve them.
