Khaberni - The Cabinet approved in its session held on Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, the draft amended law for the Constitutional Court for the year 2026.
The purpose of the bill is to align the membership criteria of the Constitutional Court set forth in the Court Law with the criteria mentioned in the Constitution of Jordan, such that a court member must have served as a judge in the Court of Cassation, the Supreme Administrative Court, be a law professor in universities holding a professor rank, a lawyer who has practiced for at least 20 years, or a specialist who meets the membership conditions of the Senate.
The bill also aims to support the technical office in the Constitutional Court with regular judges at the request of the court president and with the approval of the Judicial Council.
