Khaberni - On Sunday, His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi held talks in Cairo, focusing on the importance of strengthening joint Arab action to restore regional stability.
During bilateral and then extended talks at the Ittihadiya Palace, the leaders confirmed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation to achieve mutual interests and serve Arab causes, with the Palestinian issue at the forefront.
The leaders stressed the necessity of implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza at all stages, enhancing the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza without restrictions, and speeding up the start of early recovery and reconstruction operations in the sector, appreciating the role of Egypt in mediating to reach an agreement to end the war.
Regarding the West Bank, the leaders renewed their firm stance of Jordan and Egypt against any attempts to displace the Palestinian people, and their rejection of various violations and arbitrary practices against them.
His Majesty the King warned of the consequences of continuing assaults on Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
The discussions covered the overall regional conditions, where the leaders reaffirmed the importance of de-escalation, the need to resolve crises through peaceful means, respect for state sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and safeguarding the assets of its peoples.
The leaders confirmed during the talks the depth of Jordanian-Egyptian relations, and the keenness to expand cooperation in various fields, especially through the High Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Committee.
For his part, the Egyptian President referred to the special nature of brotherly relations that bring Egypt and Jordan together, and the necessity of enhancing them in a way that achieves the interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi, and the Director of His Majesty the King's Office, Alaa Batayneh.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received and bid farewell to His Majesty the King at Cairo International Airport.
