Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate’s spokesperson said that the Anti-Narcotics Department, through their daily efforts to pursue all aspects of drug trafficking, promotion, and smuggling, dealt with 13 cases and security campaigns against drug dealers and promoters. In these recent days, they managed to arrest 35 individuals involved and seize large quantities of drugs and firearms.
He confirmed that the Anti-Narcotics teams, in coordination with the specialized police directorates and Gendarmerie forces, carried out 4 security campaigns against drug dealers and promoters in several provinces, including Ma'an, which resulted in the arrest of 10 wanted individuals and drug dealers and promoters. In Zarqa province, two promoters were arrested during the security campaign; and in a campaign conducted in Ajloun province, four individuals involved in drug cases were arrested, while three locations in Al-Shuna Al-Janubiyya district were raided. During these raids, two individuals were arrested, one of whom was classified as dangerous and involved in cultivating marijuana. Large quantities of drugs and marijuana plants were seized in all campaigns.
In the capital province, seven significant cases were addressed. In the first case, a drug dealer was raided and caught with 17,000 drug pills in his possession. In the second case, another dealer was arrested with 18 kilograms of hashish. A vehicle used by three promoters to sell drugs was pursued in the third case, resulting in their arrest and the seizure of 5 kilograms of hashish, 500 drug pills, an amount of the deadly crystal substance, and a firearm. In the fourth case, 1.250 kg of the deadly crystal substance was seized from a drug dealer. Two promoters were arrested in the fifth case with 14 kilograms of hashish in their possession. Four promoters were arrested in the sixth case with 5 kg of marijuana in their possession. Finally, in the last of the cases, 6 kilograms of hashish were seized from one promoter.
In Al-Ramtha district, after gathering information about a dangerous drug dealer distributing the deadly crystal substance, his location was identified, and he was found with a quantity of that substance. He was raided, arrested, and found in possession of 1.5 kg of it. In Mafraq, 3 individuals involved in drug promotion were arrested with 4,000 drug pills following their monitoring and raid.
