Deputy Qabaini Condemns Attack and Being Called a Fool Video

Khaberni - Deputy Qasim Qabaini said he was surprised, as were many citizens, by the insults he received from one of his colleagues during his absence from the session, describing the incident as "a scene unbefitting the legislative authority" after being called a "fool".

In a speech during the morning legislative session on Sunday, Qabaini clarified that the colleague directed offensive descriptions at him, extending to accusations of betrayal and apostasy, considering that what happened was an unacceptable transgression within the House of Representatives, emphasizing that his "only sin is defending the citizens he represents, especially on issues related to the electricity file and the bills whose clarity and fairness are doubted, and whose burden is difficult for citizens to bear."

He pointed out that it would be more appropriate for his colleague, in his words, to stand by the citizens to defend their rights instead of attacking a deputy who is performing this role.

Qabaini added that he also faces other complaints and pressures due to his demands for disclosing truths and his refusal to pass agreements he sees as unfair to the nation, affirming that his stance is firm and he will not retreat from standing alongside the citizens, whether the pressures come from within the council or outside it.

He emphasized that his defense stems from his convictions and principles, and from the principles of the Labor Party which he is proud to belong to, affirming that "defending the people is not a crime, and exposing unfair agreements is not an insult, but a national duty."

Qabaini concluded his statement by affirming that he will not respond to the insult, considering that the citizen is capable of distinguishing between those who stand with them and those on the opposing side. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, responded to Deputy Qabaini by stating that all deputies "are keen on the interest of the nation and the citizens."
