Khaberni - Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei described the anti-government protests that took place in January as resembling a "coup attempt".
The Tasnim agency quoted Khamenei saying that the protesters "attacked the police, government buildings, Revolutionary Guard barracks, banks, mosques, and burned Qurans," adding that the attempt "failed".
