Shoman launches the 22nd cycle of the Abda Award

Khaberni -  Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation has launched the 22nd cycle of the Creative Production Award for Children and Adolescents (Abda) for the year 2026, under the slogan "Creativity Knows No Limits", targeting all school students in Jordan, aiming to enhance the creative production of children and adolescents in literary, performing, artistic fields, and scientific innovation.

The award will continue to accept applications until April 30, 2026.

The award aims to foster a spirit of positive competition among children and adolescents, showcase their talents and enrich their knowledge, while emphasizing on developing their abilities and elevating their literary and artistic taste, supporting innovation and scientific thinking, and contributing to preparing a generation aware of knowledge and literary skills in proper Arabic.

It also aims to enhance the culture of creativity by discovering talented and outstanding children and adolescents at an early stage, with a note on employing the creative skills of students and their abilities to express their opinions and positions.
The award covers fields of "literary creativity (essay, poetry, and short story)", "performing arts creativity (music, dance, and singing)", "artistic creativity (drawing, caricature, Arabic calligraphy)", and "scientific innovations (sciences)".

The award is directed to children and adolescents; Jordanians and non-Jordanians residing in Jordan, from the targeted age groups 8-11 years, 12-15 years, and 16 – 18 years, and a new field in the visual and plastic arts, Arabic calligraphy, has been introduced this cycle.

The academic committee of the award stipulates that no more than one work in the same field may be submitted, noting that the applicant has the freedom to choose the topic they wish to participate in. It also demands that the work be produced by the applicant for the award, that it has not won other awards, and that the literary outputs are in correct Arabic.

The academic committee invites the targeted children and adolescents to participate in the award, through registering on the award's official website (www.shoman.org/Abde).

It noted that during February, the award will be promoted in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, at the start of the second semester of the academic year, aiming to reach the targeted groups of creators and talented individuals.

This will be done through a carnival that includes a series of activities and events inspired by the award's fields, to introduce the public to the award and its various categories, in addition to providing a platform to discover and support local talents. The carnival will be organized in several provinces to enhance inclusivity and allow everyone to participate and benefit.
The (Abda) Award comes from the belief of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, the cultural and social responsibility arm of Arab Bank, in the role of the new generation of children and adolescents in shaping the future, for giving talented individuals the opportunity to express themselves, expose them to knowledge, and provide them with free and healthy environments where they can move, innovate, and express their selves.
