Qatar The earthquake that struck southern Iran poses no danger to us

Khaberni - The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the earthquake that hit southwestern Iran on Sunday does not pose any danger to the State of Qatar.

The Qatari Seismic Information Network had recorded on Sunday an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale in southwestern Iran.

The Qatar Meteorological Department clarified that the earthquake, which occurred at exactly 08:11:19 AM Doha time, at a distance of about 263 kilometers northeast of Doha city, poses no danger, according to what was reported by the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The Meteorological Department pointed out that the area that experienced the earthquake is considered seismically active, due to the ongoing tectonic movements between the Arabian plate and the Eurasian plate.

The head of the Earthquake Department in the administration confirmed that such earthquakes do not pose any threat to the State of Qatar, reassuring citizens and residents of no potential risks.
