Khaberni - Newly released files reveal that sex offender Jeffrey Epstein boasted of his close relationship with Tony Blair, 8 years after the former British Prime Minister claimed he had cut all ties with him.
Tony Blair admitted meeting the late financier at "Downing Street" in 2002, but claimed that the two did not meet or communicate after that time. However, emails in the latest release of Epstein's files show how the convicted pedophile (child sexual exploiter) continued to boast about their close relationship, even after serving a prison sentence for soliciting a minor for prostitution.
In one correspondence dated September 2010, Valerie Post, an acquaintance of Epstein, told him she would attend a dinner party with Sir Tony Blair and businessman Sir Richard Branson. Epstein replied, "You can ask Richard about my island, it's twenty minutes away from his (Necker Island)."
Post then responded: "I spoke with him about Zimbabwe, and he did not mention his island, it seems it does not need help. Shaking Tony’s hand made the occasion special for me." Epstein then wrote: "Tony knows me well, you can ask him to have tea with you."
Other Correspondences
In August preceding, and just a few weeks after being released from a 13-month prison sentence for soliciting a minor for prostitution, Epstein sent an email to John Brockman, a literary agent, suggesting that he was seeking to fund a project involving Blair. He wrote: "I intend to fully fund the next gatherings (meetings involving a lot of interaction, walking, coffee drinking, and idea exchange) over the coming year."
Among the events mentioned was one titled "Music and the Brain," which Epstein claimed Sir Tony had been a major participant in previously. There is no hint that this event actually took place, nor is there any evidence that Blair maintained contact with Epstein after 2002.
It is noted that the details of the "Downing Street" meeting were released by the National Archives last October under a freedom of information request, after Lord Mandelson was dismissed from his position as the US envoy due to his relationship with Epstein.
At that time, a spokesman for the former Prime Minister said: "As far as he remembers, Mr. Blair met with him for less than 30 minutes at Downing Street in 2002, where they discussed US and British policy. He did not meet or communicate with him afterwards.” He added: "This was, of course, long before the crimes were known and he was later convicted."
