Khaberni - Media reports have confirmed that Atlético Madrid is close to finalizing the deal to sign Nigerian Ademola Lookman, amidst rapid developments witnessed by the negotiations in the recent hours, putting the Spanish club in a leading position to officially seal the deal.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Lookman has informed all parties of his desire to prioritize the Atlético Madrid project, despite the improved financial offer from Fenerbahçe, as he prefers a new experience in the Spanish league and joining Diego Simeone's squad.
He clarified: "Atlético Madrid has reached a verbal agreement with Atalanta on a deal valued at about 40 million euros, awaiting the completion of official steps within the day, in preparation for the final announcement of the deal if things proceed as planned".
He continued: "Lookman is seen as an important offensive addition to Atlético Madrid, thanks to his speed and ability to play in more than one offensive position, at a time when the club is aiming to enhance its offensive options in preparation for the upcoming local and continental commitments".
