Trump Announces Start of Negotiations with Iran Hints at Military Option

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran has entered into a negotiation process with the United States, confirming that Washington is awaiting the results of these talks "to see if we can do something, or else we'll see what happens".

In remarks to Fox News, Trump noted that the United States cannot disclose its plans regarding Iran to its Gulf allies.

Trump revealed the movement of a large American military fleet toward the region, describing it as "larger than what we have in Venezuela".

Trump added that "the Iranians are negotiating", affirming that Washington has eliminated their nuclear program in previous negotiation rounds, indicating the continuation of a policy of pressure alongside the diplomatic path.

The Secretary-General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, stated on Saturday evening that work is ongoing to prepare a "framework for negotiations" with the United States, without providing further details.

Trump’s statements come amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran over the Iranian nuclear program, U.S. sanctions, and military presence in the Middle East, where diplomatic movements coincide with military messages aimed at increasing pressure on Iran to make concessions at the negotiation table.
