Director of Al Hussein Cancer Center reveals details of the new triple therapy for pancreatic cancer

Khaberni - The CEO and General Manager of Al Hussein Cancer Center, Dr. Asem Mansour, detailed the recently announced new Spanish triple therapy, which has shown promising results in eliminating pancreatic cancer.

Mansour clarified in a post on his "Facebook" page that pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive types of cancer, as the tumor forms a hard shield around itself, which obstructs the access of chemotherapy to it.

He explained that the new treatment is based on an innovative idea that involves using three approaches to unlock three defensive locks behind which the tumor shields itself, thus facilitating its penetration and destruction.

Mansour pointed out the importance of cautious optimism regarding these results, explaining that the study is still in its preclinical stage, where experiments were conducted only on mice, and that what succeeds at this stage is not necessarily successful when applied to humans, as the rate of such experiments transitioning to patient treatments typically does not exceed 5 percent.

He also emphasized that the path is still long and requires years of clinical trials to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.

He affirmed that the news represents a promising and significant research step, but it has not yet been transformed into a treatment available for use in hospitals.
