Musk Attacks Charlie Hebdo After Controversial Cartoon

Khaberni - The confrontation on the "X" platform between American billionaire Elon Musk and the French satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo" erupted after the latter published a cartoon criticizing the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in an escalation that attracted the attention of millions around the world.

This week, "Charlie Hebdo" published on its cover a cartoon depicting an ICE agent dragging a bloodied corpse, referring to the killing of Alex Priti by agency members in Minneapolis on January 24.

In the background of the cartoon, the American flag is surrounded by piles of corpses dressed in blue amidst blood stains, which sparked widespread controversy on social media platforms, with the post receiving more than 6 million views on X.

Musk's sarcastic response
Elon Musk commented on the post with a single French word: "Attardés" ("backwards"), accompanied by a link to his AI-supported encyclopedia "Grokipedia", which covers the terrorist attacks on the "Charlie Hebdo" headquarters on January 7, 2015, which resulted in the death of 12 people including members of the editorial staff.

It seems that the implicit message in Musk's comment suggests that he believes ICE operations curb mass migration and reduce the risks of potential terrorists carrying out similar attacks to those that occurred in Paris in 2015.

The sharp response from "Charlie Hebdo"
The magazine did not remain silent, but rather published a composite image of the brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi, the perpetrators of the armed attack on the magazine headquarters, holding Kalashnikov rifles and saying "Thank you, Elon!"

In the picture, the brothers are seen exiting a car resembling the Teslas owned by Musk, moments before the assassination of police officer Ahmed Merabet in the street.

This confrontation comes at a time of heated debate surrounding the strict immigration policies adopted by the administration of President Donald Trump, particularly the controversial role of the ICE agency.

"Charlie Hebdo", known for publishing provocative caricatures, continues to defend freedom of expression despite previous threats and attacks, while Musk emerges as a prominent supporter of Trump's hardline stances on immigration, making him a frequent target of criticism by media outlets and human rights organizations.
