Launch of Prepaid Payment Cards for Haranah Omari Road Services

Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced the start of the prepaid card system, exclusively designated for users of the Haranah – Omari road, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop traffic services and enhance the efficiency of collection operations using the latest digital technologies that ensure the speedy passage and reduce waiting times.
These new cards are available in two main denominations, twenty and fifty dinars, where the ministry has made sure to offer them to citizens without any additional commissions or purchase fees for the card itself, meaning that the user only pays the actual value of the loaded balance.
To facilitate acquisition, the Directorate has provided direct card purchases through collection kiosks on the Haranah – Omari road, or by visiting the ministry's center at the Road Asset Management Directorate.
The new cards use advanced contactless payment technology that allows travelers to complete the payment process quickly by just swiping the card over a dedicated device installed outside the kiosk, which saves drivers from long stops or the need to handle cash.
In the context of diversifying payment options, travelers can also use their personal bank cards, whether they are debit or local credit cards without any commissions, while a commission of only 2.5% is charged when using bank cards issued by foreign entities.
The Haranah – Omari road is one of the key hubs in the kingdom's road network, serving as a main artery connecting Jordan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries.
This vital road witnesses heavy traffic of trucks loaded with goods and travelers, making it imperative to update its services and develop the infrastructure for payment operations to keep up with the volume of trade exchange and facilitate the crossing of commercial caravans and travelers across borders, and ensure the road’s durability and maintenance according to the highest international standards.
The project management invites all fellow citizens interested in inquiries or obtaining more information to contact the project services at the number (062227581), affirming their commitment to providing the best services that ensure safety and ease of travel on external roads.
