US Justice Department Releases 3 Million New Documents from Epstein Files

Khaberni - The US Department of Justice today released new files, video clips, and photos related to the case of the late billionaire and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch stated that the department has released more than 3 million pages of documents in the latest batch of "Epstein Files," including some pages that officials said were withheld from the first batch released last December, according to American media.

During the press conference, Blanch added, "They also released 2,000 video clips and 180,000 photos from Epstein's files."

He added that "the administration of US President Donald Trump submitted about 3.5 million pages in an attempt to comply with the 'Epstein File Transparency Act'."

He explained, "We performed extensive redactions and concealments in Epstein's documents to protect the victims."

Blanch added that "the efforts undertaken by the department resulted in the identification of more than 6 million pages as being relevant, including emails from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), interview summaries, photos, video clips, and other assorted materials gathered during various investigations and legal proceedings covered by the law."

He further added that "the department will submit to both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees a report including all categories of records that have been published and those that have been withheld."

When asked whether the new batch of documents includes new names, Blanch said that he "does not have anything to share in this regard."

The photos and files that Epstein's estate delivered to the committee are separate from what is widely known as "Epstein Files," which refer to the documents in possession of the Justice Department relating to its own investigation into the Epstein case.

Under the "Epstein File Transparency Act," signed by President Trump to become law, the Justice Department must release the files that will not be withheld. The scope of these files' content is not yet known and is likely to be widely redacted, similar to the materials released by the House Oversight Committee.

The Justice Department released tens of thousands of pages in December (December) last year, including photos, interview transcripts, communication records, and legal documents.

It should be noted that Epstein committed suicide in his cell in a New York prison in August (August) 2019, a month after federal charges were pressed against him for "sex trafficking."
