Khaberni - The chairman of the Palestinian Technocrat Committee Ali Shaath announced the opening of the Rafah Crossing in both directions starting from the upcoming Monday, February 2, 2026, after the completion of necessary arrangements between the relevant parties operating the crossing.
Shaath stated in a statement on Friday evening that Sunday, February 1, will be a trial day for the operational mechanisms at the crossing.
The Israeli military's Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories stated on Friday that it will reopen the Rafah border crossing on Sunday for the movement between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
It added: "The return of Gaza residents from Egypt to the Strip will be allowed, in coordination with Egypt, only for those who left Gaza during the war, and after obtaining prior security approval from Israel."
