Khaberni - The Syrian authorities have announced the arrest of the "main suspect" in the murder case of the esteemed artist Huda Shaarawi, which has shaken Syria during the recent hours. The initial investigations revealed that the accused is a domestic worker of Ghanaian nationality.
According to local media, the accused confessed to the crime during the preliminary investigations, while detectives and the public prosecution continue to interrogate her to uncover the real motives and circumstances of the horrifying incident.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior issued an official statement regarding the murder of the esteemed artist Huda Shaarawi inside her home in the capital Damascus, in an incident that caused widespread shock in both artistic and public circles.
The Interior Ministry mentioned that upon receiving the report, the internal security units and criminal investigation teams immediately commenced the necessary legal procedures, including securing the scene, collecting and analyzing criminal evidence, and documenting all field data, alongside broadening the investigation to uncover the circumstances of the crime.
In a related context, testimonies from neighbors of the late artist indicated that the crime took place in the early hours of Thursday, pointing out that the victim was killed using an iron tool known as a "mortar pestle," a kitchen tool.
One of the neighbors mentioned that the domestic maid disappeared after the incident, and it is suspected that she escaped through one of the house’s balconies
