Ministry of Justice Notary Law Enhances eServices and Increases Their Efficiency

Khaberni - The Director of Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Omar Abdel Dayem, said on Thursday that the Notary Law aims to develop the electronic services provided to citizens and improve their quality, contributing to the acceleration of procedures and improvement of service levels.

The House of Representatives, on January 28, 2026, approved by majority a bill amending the Notary Law of 2025, which contains 14 articles.

Abdel Dayem explained that the law saves time and effort for citizens, in addition to enhancing information protection and increasing work efficiency, noting that the Ministry of Justice has digitized a number of Notary services, which allows some transactions to be carried out electronically without the need for personal presence in some cases.

He pointed out that digital services include holding remote sessions to provide the required services, in addition to enabling advance booking through the electronic platforms of the Ministry of Justice.

He referred to the fact that the proposed amendments to the law include the repeal of Article (17) from the original law and replacing it with a text that allows relatives or their agents to attend before the Notary in person or remotely via electronic means authorized under a system issued for this purpose.

He added that the ministry is waiting for the completion of legislative procedures and the approval of the Senate for the Electronic Transactions Law and the Notary Law, in preparation for moving to full automation of all services.

Abdel Dayem pointed out that the law project abolishes the obligation to review the nearest notary within the citizen's residential area, allowing the service to be provided by any notary in various regions of the kingdom.
