Jordanian government discusses with Indian ambassador enhancing cooperation in the transportation sector

Khaberni - Minister of Transport Nidal Al-Qatamin, on Thursday, discussed with the Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Manish Chauhan, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the transportation sector, particularly in the field of rail transport, in order to serve mutual interests and support development efforts.

Al-Qatamin affirmed the solidity of Jordanian-Indian relations, emphasizing the need to translate these relations into practical and sustainable cooperation that achieves bilateral benefits, especially in vital sectors with economic and developmental impact.

The minister reviewed the Kingdom's directions to develop the transportation system in Jordan, including the rail sector, as a strategic axis to improve transportation efficiency and support supply chains, pointing out opportunities for cooperation with the Indian side in planning, implementation, and knowledge transfer, alongside localizing railway-related industries in cooperation with the Jordanian private sector.

For his part, the Indian Ambassador Manish Chauhan emphasized the depth of the relations between the two countries, expressing his country's readiness to enhance cooperation with Jordan in the transportation sector, and to offer technical expertise and advanced experiences, particularly in the field of rail transport and related industries.

The ambassador expressed his country's aspiration to build effective partnerships based on the exchange of expertise and encouraging cooperation between the public and private sectors, which would achieve mutual benefits for both sides.
