Khaberni - The investigations of the Turkish Public Prosecution in the murder of a woman revealed that her husband shot her in the head because he was angry she entered the house with her shoes on instead of leaving them outside the apartment, as many Turkish families do.
The crime occurred last October in Izmir, western Turkey, and shocked the region, as the wife had been suffering from cancer for years, only to be ultimately killed by her husband.
However, the final indictment clarified that the husband admitted to his crime out of anger at his wife, who had returned from abroad and entered the apartment with her shoes on, while he had just finished cleaning it.
The husband stated during the investigations that his wife did not appreciate his effort in cleaning the house, and they entered into a verbal altercation that angered him, before he decided to kill her on the same day while she was lying in her bed.
The murderer, Rustam Tekir, is 71 years old, and his wife "Izadiya" had returned from the hospital on the day of the crime for treatment of a spinal cancer that had afflicted her seven years prior.
The husband alleges that after shooting his wife and watching her agonize, he tried to shoot himself in the head, but the gun failed to fire.
After committing the crime, the husband called the emergency center and confessed to his crime, prompting the arrival of ambulance and police teams at the home.
The husband, who has provoked widespread anger across the country by committing his crime, faces a life sentence in prison to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The couple's children say that their mother's murder is the culmination of years of their father's violence against the sick woman.
