200000 students and teachers using the Siraj educational platform

Khaberni - The Director of the Queen Rania Center for Educational Technology and Information Management, Munib Tashman, said that artificial intelligence is both a science and a skill at the same time, emphasizing that the skill is considered the most important in the field of artificial intelligence, not just theoretical learning.

Tashman added, during his appearance on the "Voice of the Kingdom" program, that digital curricula were taught last year to students in the 7th, 9th, and 11th grades, and will be taught this year to students in the 8th, 10th, and 12th grades, indicating that digital activities were presented to students from grades 1 to 6.

He explained that the digital curricula include units on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and programming, in addition to general information about computers.

He pointed out that the smart assistant "Siraj" is currently used by about 200,000 users including students, teachers, and parents through the application, noting that the goal is to generalize the experience of "Siraj" on a wider scale.

He mentioned that 30% of the teachers use the Siraj educational platform, and that about 60,000 teachers have been trained since last October.

Tashman confirmed that all curricula will be digitized, explaining that the digital curricula have begun, and will be gradually expanded to include the rest of the curricula.

The Ministry of Education launched the educational smart assistant "Siraj", one of the initiatives of the National Council for Future Technology, on a trial basis, which is considered an educational tool supported by artificial intelligence.

The launch of "Siraj" is in line with the directives of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to use artificial intelligence in education, and to harness technology in serving the citizens.
