Khaberni - The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated on Wednesday that the days of the Iranian regime are "numbered", expressing his support for Italy's call to classify the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.
During a press conference alongside the Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bologan, Merz considered that "a regime that can only stay in power through sheer violence and terror against its own people, its days are numbered."
He added, "It may be a matter of weeks, but this regime has no legitimacy to govern."
On the other hand, the German Chancellor strongly supported Italy's efforts to urge the European Union to classify the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.
Merz said, "I express my deep regret that there is still one or two countries in the European Union not yet prepared to support such a classification."
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani urged, last Monday, the European Union to classify the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a "terrorist organization" following the bloody repression of the protests.
He said he would propose the idea "in coordination with other partners" at a meeting of his counterparts in the European Union in Brussels today, Thursday.
President Donald Trump said that a massive fleet is heading towards Iran, moving swiftly and with immense force and enthusiasm, led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, noting that it is larger than that which was sent to Venezuela.
