Khaberni - The director of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority office in Irbid Governorate, Mohammad Al-Alawneh, announced the extension of 5 public transport lines comprising 42 buses to serve the new Princess Basma Educational Hospital.
Al-Alawneh stated on Wednesday that these routes already operate in the area and serve Princess Badeia Hospital for Gynecology and Obstetrics, Rahma Hospital for Children, and the outpatient clinics, pointing out that the new regulatory plan is based on extending the routes of these existing lines to serve the new Princess Basma Hospital since it is close to these hospitals, thereby achieving integration in public transport service for the medical area.
He explained that a joint committee consisting of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority and Greater Irbid Municipality has determined the specific loading and unloading stops for the buses, and identification signs will be installed for official adoption and to organize the boarding and alighting process for visitors.
He confirmed that this step comes to ensure traffic flow around the hospital and to provide practical transportation solutions that facilitate access for visitors and medical staff to this vital medical facility, noting that the distribution of lines and stops aims to alleviate passenger congestion and reduce the distances that visitors have to walk to reach the main entrances of the hospital.
Al-Alawneh mentioned that a special area has been designated for buses to park opposite the emergency department, explaining that this regulatory space aims to prevent random stopping of buses along the main roads, ensuring smooth traffic flow and maintaining road readiness around the hospital for emergency and ambulance situations without any notable obstacles.
He pointed out that the routes are directly connected to the main travel complexes in the city, which are: Irbid Central Travel Complex "New Amman", Northern, Bushra, Old Ghor, and New Ghor.
