Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate warned of the low-pressure system expected to affect the Kingdom today, Wednesday, where temperatures will drop and showers of rain will occur in the north of the Kingdom extending to the central, eastern, and southwestern regions, possibly heavy for a short period accompanied by thunder and hail, according to meteorological bulletins issued by the relevant authorities.
The Directorate called for taking necessary precautions, adopting proper conduct, and the importance of staying away from the edges of valleys and places of flash floods and low-lying areas especially in the north and central parts of the Kingdom and not to risk crossing water gatherings whether on foot or by vehicles.
It also emphasized the importance of driving carefully on roads that may experience rain, taking caution due to reduced horizontal visibility due to fog over mountainous elevations, and due to dust in desert areas and on desert roads.
The Directorate called for caution due to the severity of wind speeds and the strong gusts associated with them and the necessity of securing any objects susceptible to being blown away.
It confirmed the need for safe and proper use of all types of heating appliances, not to refuel them while lit, to extinguish them before sleeping, to continuously provide appropriate ventilation in homes, and not to use wood stoves due to their potential negative impacts including cases of suffocation.
It confirmed the readiness of all personnel to deal with various incidents and the necessity of calling the unified emergency number 911 if needed.
