Khaberni - Iran implemented the execution sentence against Hamid Reza Thabet Ismailpour, who had been arrested on April 28 (April) last year, on charges of espionage and intelligence cooperation on behalf of the "Mossad."
The Iranian judiciary stated: "The execution was carried out after the Supreme Court's endorsement and the completion of all legal procedures on charges of espionage and intelligence cooperation on behalf of a hostile intelligence service (the Israeli Mossad), and this by communicating with an intelligence officer and handing over documents, records, and classified information," according to Iranian media.
It added: "Investigations into the defendant's undercover activities on electronic space platforms revealed that Hamid Reza Thabet had sent documents to an intelligence officer affiliated with Israel."
It continued: "His tasks also included performing intelligence and operational activities on behalf of Israel, including purchasing equipment required by the officer, and transporting vehicles in the provinces of Isfahan and Lorestan to prepare the ground for sabotage activities targeting rocket facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Defense in what was known as 'the major operation,' which was detected and thwarted by the unknown soldiers of Imam Mahdi (aj) in the Ministry of Intelligence."
Iran, which has been engaged in a shadow war with Israel for decades, has executed many individuals accused of communicating with the Israeli intelligence service and facilitating its operations in the country.
The number of executions of Iranians convicted of spying for Israel has significantly increased since last year following the direct confrontation that erupted between the two regional enemies in June, when Israeli and American forces struck Iranian nuclear facilities.
