Khaberni - On Wednesday, gold exceeded the $5200 level for the first time, after rising by more than 3% on Tuesday, along with the decline of the US currency to its lowest level in about four years amidst ongoing geopolitical concerns and ahead of the Federal Reserve's decision on monetary policy.
Gold in spot transactions jumped 1.1% to $5243.58 per ounce by 0314 GMT, after it climbed to a record level of $5247.21 earlier, and has risen by more than 20% since the beginning of the year.
The U.S. futures gold for February delivery increased 3.1% to $5237.70 per ounce.
